Prisma Research Company within the framework of DATA (Data for Accountable and Transparent Action) Project, together with its partners “Armavir Development Center” NGO, “Center for Rights Development” NGO, “Public Journalism Club” NGO, implements the “Data-based policy improvement process in the field of Labor Law” subproject. The project aims at improving the field of employment contracts and presenting recommendations to decision makers based on research data.

According to the survey conducted by Prisma, about 69% of employees have a written employment or service contract, whereas 22% work without a contract. This phenomenon is more common in the fields of construction, agriculture, hospitality, as well as in wholesale and retail trade services. The absence of contract appears more widespread among the youngest (17-25) and the oldest (66-75) groups of respondents, as well as among those with low level of education. Moreover, almost 27․2% of those who have a contract do not have their copy of bilaterally signed contract.

One of the interesting findings of this research is the fact that although only 8.6% of the respondents mention that their labor rights have ever been violated in their workplace, only 9․4% (3 people) of the them have taken steps in restoring their violated rights. In addition, in case of possible violations, only about 19% of respondents claims that they will not take any steps.
